WORLD5

Artists: Suki Mehr, Sven Eberwein

World5 consists of two 2000mm ø, three 1000mm ø Stainless Steel Spheres suspended from a framework of red anodized steel beams.

Each Sphere reflects its direct environment.

Together they create a multilayered and distorted view on the world where the same shapes, landscapers and people repeat again and again.

The vermilion hue steel beams structure the space and determine the position of each sphere.

Their reflections are warped and in strong contrast with their actual purpose.

The spheres are arranged randomly, the steel beams are login and organized, inviting the observer to study the sculpture from many different angles and slowly develop a spatial awareness.

It’s impossible for the observer to look at the sculpture without looking at himself and understanding himself in the context of his environment.
